13 Fishing rods. Are they any good for UK style of fishing?

13 Fishing rods. Are they any good for UK style of fishing?

For What Type of Anglers are 13 Fishing Rods Best Suited?

13 fishing has a broad range of fishing rods at a range of price points. In that regard, there’s a 13 fishing rod for most anglers.

Their rods feel great, look great and perform admirably under a huge range of applications and conditions.

Their top shelf section will definitely appeal to the well budgeted anglers looking for the best in responsiveness, feel, and sensitivity.

For those with tighter budgets, or for anglers who prefer mid-range products, there is a much wider selection.

Are 13 Fishing Rods Any Good?

The best answer to this is to say 13 Fishing rods are very competitive and fast becoming a force to be reckoned with for fishing enthusiasts.

The 13 Fishing Fate Black and the Ambition Combo are both ICast awarded series, with the kids’ Ambition rods something extra-special.

It is in keeping with its corporate goals and the reason why the company was formed. It’s all about fun but super edgy fishing.

There’s obvious attention to detail and a clear pursuit of performance designed into their rods, right across the range.

Ultimately, determining if something is good or otherwise will come down to subjective appraisal – Is it good for you? Is it good for your applications relative to other brands?

That said, 13 Fishing has invested in all the right rod features. So, yes, they’re good. And I’d encourage any angler to check them out.

13 Fishing Fate Black Fishing Rods

If you don't know the Fate Black series by now, it's time to get acquainted. This widely recognized series is back to make another bold statement. The continuing legacy of sensitivity and reactive spline on the PVG30T blank gives this rod an unmatched feeling. Through the Evolve Soft Touch ported reel seat and custom-wrapped stainless steel Alconite guides, this rod relays the most subtle of fish intentions by harnessing the energy and transferring it straight to your palm. The lighter setup of the new edition improves the overall feel while maintaining the custom-tuned tapers the series is known for.

13 Fishing Fate V3 Spinning Rod

Fresh from the lab, Fate V3 has broken out of its test tube and is here. Without trying to re-invent the wheel, we added Evolve Soft Touch custom reel seat and Airfoil Carbon grips to manufacture grip and feel at absurd levels. The PVG 36T graphite blank decreases the weight and increases the sensitivity pushing the blank to be that much better’er. This rod is 100% gluten-free in order to be lightweight but we also managed to include tangle free guides with Zirconia inserts. Most importantly, we added the Snaggletooth hook keeper because it turns out that people like to store the baits in between uses.

Is 13 Fishing a Good Fishing Brand?

Of all the newcomers in the last couple of decades, 13 Fishing stands out as a solid brand.

Recent interest and a 49% acquisition from Rapala would indicate that the 13 Fishing model has been recognized by the industry as something special.

What may happen in the future is anybody’s guess, as corporate machinations tend to influence products.

However, for the time being, the performance of their product suggests 13 Fishing to be a good, competitive brand.

Are 13 Fishing any good for the UK lure angler?

They feel wonderful in your hands and in addition to the lightweight construction the small details give their rods the luxury feel of a high-end rod. If you’re looking to upgrade your finesse or heavy arsenal, I think this is an excellent choice because you can get two high-quality rods for the price of one expensive rod.  The sensitivity of the 13 Fishingrods has really been impressive.

The sensitivity is largely because of the PVG (Poly Vector Graphite) technology, which is said to align graphite fibers at a micro level which results in a tighter weave. That sounds mighty complicated to me, so I’ll put it in “Walker” terms: You’re going to feel everything that bites when you’re fishing with this rods. Period.

This is an excellent choice if you need to add to your finesse fishing collection. It’s gorgeous aesthetically, but more importantly, it fishes and feels like a much more expensive rod. For the money, you’ll be getting a heck of deal with this rods.
